Come home to us for Christmas bring family and friends to meet with family and friends. This event will be a true Traditional Irish Christmas. We propose to improve on the very successful Windgap Winter Wonderland 2016.

Christmas is not just a time for children. We are mindful of the fact that Christmas can be a lonely time and we will ensure our golden years folks, those living alone or in nursing homes are central to our celebrations. Their contribution to this event will be much appreciated by inviting them to share with us their memories of their Christmas childhood together with any photographs or memorabilia they may have.

Our lake setting in the lower village is the ideal backdrop to the Winter Wonderland. The lake and the surrounding area will be ‘aglow’ with Christmas. We will have floating candles on the lake and Christmas lights on all the surrounding trees.

The wooded area adjacent to the lake will be the pathway leading to Clauses House (The old League House) En route to the house, through the wood, the children will see the houses of the many elves and fairies who are hard at work now in Santa’s Toy Workshop(downstairs in The League House).

The Old League House
Upstairs Santa Claus & Mrs Claus will welcome the children.

ICA House
The ICA House a very old historic building will host A Traditional Irish Christmas –This house is a perfect location to showcase what a traditional Irish Christmas would have been like long ago.

This experience will be enhanced by the presence of our special guests -the older members of our community.

Local adults and children in traditional costume will be on hand to bring the experience to life.

The Tennis Court.
To complete the village tour the tennis court will come alive with Christmas market stalls. This is where you can enjoy a warm drink chat with family and friends. Festive art crafts and produce and traditional cakes and puddings will be on sale to help support our small cottage industries and an opportunity to buy a true traditional Christmas present.

Wren boys will make music and encourage people of all talents to join in.
Carol singers in traditional dress will sing traditional Irish carols.
Closing: Everybody back to the lakeside at a specified time.

Our ‘Grand Finale’ will be everybody called together to release a helium balloon given to each child by Santa or purchased from the igloo in the tennis court with our great wish for Christmas.
