Celebrating World Star Weaving Day in Kilkenny
Join us for a heartwarming, creative gathering as we celebrate World Star Weaving Day with Amber Women’s Refuge and the One Million Stars Ireland Project at Yulefest Kilkenny.
Together, we’ll weave beautiful eight-pointed stars, symbols of hope, light, and solidarity against DSGBV. Each woven star becomes part of powerful collective exhbitions that shines a light on community, connection, and compassion.

What to Expect
- Learn how to weave your own paper or fabric star in a relaxed, creative space
- Add your star to a Yulefest Tree or take with you to display in your home
- Hear the story of the One Million Stars Ireland movement, which connects communities around the world through art and action
- Take a moment to reflect, connect, and share in the festive spirit of kindness and light
All materials provided. No experience needed…just bring your open heart and helping hands!
About World Star Weaving Day
World Star Weaving Day (WSWD) is celebrated globally on December 2nd , inviting communities everywhere to weave stars in solidarity for a world without violence. The initiative began with artist Maryann Talia Pau in Australia and now connects star weavers in over 30 countries.
