“Plough thru the City” is an all type vehicle run passing through the streets of Kilkenny and is being organised in partnership with The Samaritans and Threecastles GAA Club.

Threecastles GAA Club is one of the smallest GAA clubs in Kilkenny with a very tightly knit community. Every club need fundraisers to keep things going but our ethos is that it would be great to give something back to a charity while doing something fun.

The event is open to all types of vehicles and the entry fee is €20. Registration is from 2pm with the “Run” starting at 3pm. The route will start at Dalton Mills, Freshford Road, making its way to Threecastles GAA Club, before descending on Kilkenny’s main streets, including High Street, John Street and The Parade. To incorporate the Christmas spirit the vehicles will be decorated with a Christmas theme and a prize awarded to the best dressed vehicle.

The Samaritans, our chosen charity will have volunteers collecting along the route. We hope the event will raise awareness of the services that The Samaritans provide and that it will prompt people to seek help if they need it.
