Kilkenny County Council invites applications for Christmas themed food and craft traders to trade at the Yulefest Christmas Market on the Parade, Kilkenny City during Yulefest Kilkenny 2024.

Successful applicants are required to trade every day of the market for the full market hours, as outlined below. Failure to do so may result in your disqualification from future Kilkenny County Council Festival markets.

PRICING
Price is for 8 days of trading including electricity There in NO electricity available to
stallholders outside of the market opening hours. Do not
leave perishable goods overnight at your stall.
For hot food vendors, cooking with gas is not permitted.
Electric heaters are not permitted due to the load that they place on the electricity supply.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Stallholders must attend the market and trade for full market hours on all market days and have sufficient stock to sell each day. Stallholder positions are non-negotiable and are allocated based on a variety of factors.
Stall Decoration Stallholders must decorate their stall with a festive theme, this is important for making it look appealing to customers and also for possible photos which can be used on social media to promote your business and the Yulefest Christmas Market. Stallholders must bring their own lights.
Insurance Stallholders must be fully insured for their business and stall and must indemnify Kilkenny County Council. A copy of your insurance certificate should be submitted with the completed application form.
HSE Registration Stalls must be licenced by the HSE to operate as a food stall, if applicable. A copy of HSE registration should be submitted with the completed application form.
Market Dates & Times: Saturday November 30th , December 7th, 14th & 21st – 11am-8pm. Sunday December 1st, 8th 15th and 22nd - 11am-6pm.
Market Set-Up Stallholders can set up each morning from 8am. Vehicles cannot be parked alongside your stall and must be removed off site before the market opens, once loading/unloading completed. Load in can take place from evening of November 29th and morning of November 30th. Load out should take place after the close of market on Sunday December 22nd.
Security As the market is an open event with free public access at all times stallholders are not advised to leave any valuables in their stall at any time. All stallholders are responsible for their own belongings. Yulefest cannot accept any responsibility for any loss/damage or theft.
Fire Fighting Equipment If you are cooking at your stall you must have the necessary fire-fighting equipment as follows: Fire Blanket / Dry Powder Fire extinguisher / CO2 Fire Extinguisher. All Fire Extinguishers must be fully serviced and display a dated service tag. Fire Blankets must be correctly mounted so as to be easily accessible in the case of an incident.
First Aid/Hygiene All stallholders must bring a first aid kit to meet risk applicable to their stall. It must also comply with HSE requirements for food handling and vending on site, where applicable.
Furniture Yulefest – Christmas in Kilkenny does not supply any furniture/tables/chairs etc.
Sanitary Accommodation: Public Toilets are located behind the kiosk on the parade.
Water Supply: There is a potable water point supplied by Kilkenny County Council on site.
Handwashing: All food stallholders must provide the HSE recommended hand wash facilities at their stall.
GREEN CHARTER All stallholders must commit to the green charter by:
Minimising waste, and reducing water and energy consumption, where possible.
Segregating food waste (where applicable) and placing it in the brown compost bins provided
Bringing unused cardboard, plastic and packaging for recycling home
Using compostable biodegradable consumables such as plates, containers, cups and ware, where possible
Eliminating single portions of condiments, such as ketchup, sugar, salt, butter, jam, etc. (where applicable)
Eliminating single use plastics, such as plastic straws and plastic cups (where applicable)
Sourcing and using seasonal produce where possible (where applicable)
Using non-hazardous and eco-friendly cleaning products
Communicating good environmental practices
Buying local products and services and in season produce (where applicable)
Supporting fair trade or other similar schemes
Cleaning up the stall and area around it, leaving no trace after the festival.
BY COMPLETING AND SUBMITTING THIS APPLICATION I AGREE TO:

For the information provided to be processed and stored by Yulefest Kilkenny and shared with Kilkenny County Council.
For image(s) and stall description to be used for promotion of the event on, but not limited to, the Festival website, social media, press releases and related publicity for the festival.
NEXT STEPS Market applications close on 19th July 2024. All applications will be reviewed after the closing date and successful applicants will be contacted with stall details and information on how to make payment.
