Castlecomer will be shining bright as the festival of light returns for Christmas 2021. Taking place on November 26th the Festival of Light will begin with Santa’s arrival at 6pm, where he’ll turn on the town’s lights and Christmas Tree. Local families will then parade to the Estate Yard at Castlecomer Discovery Park, where there will be music, food and craft stalls. With the stalls wrapping up at 9.30pm you’ll make it home just in time for the Late Late Toy Show.
This community event is organised by the Synergy Group, a Castlecomer town development association that aims to make Castlecomer a great place to live, work and do business. The event involves all aspects of the community with the local schools already getting creative as they prepare lanterns which will form the magical parade of light from the Square to the Estate Yard.
To fund this event this year the town is fundraising through a mega raffle, all thanks to the generosity of local businesses who have donated some very attractive prizes. Tickets are now on sale in the Eurospar, Rowe’s, Castlecomer Discovery Park and other sites, with full details are available on the Festival of Light Facebook page @festivaloflightcastlecomer
This is a magical event that is always very well attended. A great way to begin your Christmas celebrations and to get in the festive spirit!
